Happy Wednesday! Hope everyone is having an amazing week so far. As I was getting ready for work yesterday, I realized how much my morning routine has been cut in half since I’ve had Bodhi. I’m someone who treasures every last minute of sleep, so it’s not uncommon that I hit the snooze one time, OR TEN, before I get up! Since I’ve had to cut a few things out of my morning routine to still get to work on time, I’ve condensed my makeup routine into a 5-minute paint-by-number…haha….enjoy!
The first step to applying any makeup is ALWAYS a clean face. I’ve used Neutrogena face wash, toner, and lotion for years. I love the look and feel my face as soon as I’m done with this 3 part system. And I love love, love the smell of this face lotion. It is hydrating, moisturizing, and contains my daily SPF coverage. I cannot stress how important it is that you to continue to use sunscreen in the winter as well. Believe it or not, overcast and cloudy days can still expose your skin to harmful UV rays. While it may not be as harmful as the summer rays, it can still be damaging to your skin and honestly…I’m not taking my chance of damaging my skin. Plus…did I tell you it smells amazing? Cause it does! On a funny side note—this was the only product that I used during my pregnancy whose smell didn’t make me nauseous.
My next steps include a foundation, concealer and setting powder. I’ve been using Laura Mercier foundation and powder for almost 2 years now, and I haven’t found any products I feel do a better job at providing medium-full coverage all while feeling light-weight on the face. I can’t stand when I feel like I can’t smile or my makeup will crack. As for my concealer, I love Too Faced, Born With It. And as all my fellow mommy readers know, concealer is crucial to cover dark circles and brighten our eyes from those long, sleepless nights. I set it all with a Laura Mercier light-weight powder.
My next step is to add a bit of bronzer and some blush. I love the bronzer from Too Faced and a “just flushed” blush from Nars. I add just a small amount of bronzer to my cheeks and forehead and add a touch of blush to my cheeks. Then I finish my face by filling in my eyebrows with Anastasia Beverly Hills and two coats of my favorite mascara, Covergirl Plumpify. I’ve tried 20+ mascaras and so far this drugstore find is my ALL TIME FAVORITE!
Now a casual face needs some casual clothes. And lately, I’ve been living in my favorite athletic gear. I love it for its dual purpose. Not only is it super comfortable, which is a major must for any mom, but it looks put together and stylish. Now if only I could use this adorable gear for it’s intended purpose and get myself to the gym!
Does anyone have a go-to beauty product they can not live without? I would love to hear about it…leave it in the comments below.
